The island of Labreille is a “Sensitive Natural Area” on the flood-prone banks of the Garonne. This island of greenery, nestled in a meander of the Garonne, is a wetland, very attractive for wildlife and especially birds. You will make beautiful ornithological observations there.
The access is not very well indicated and difficult to find. Do not hesitate to take advice from the tourist office. There are also guided tours that take place there from time to time. They can allow you to better understand the specificities of this natural space and reveal all its facets.
In the town of Grisolles, just next door, the site of Mauvers-les Bordes is a short but very interesting hiking trail, on the other bank of the Garonne.
