The Forest of Agre is a national forest, south of Montauban, in the town of Montech. The forest is criss-crossed by many trails. Hiking trails allow you to discover the places. You can leave from Port-Canal and take a marked circuit. You follow a botanical trail that explains some of the tree species that inhabit this forest. You will follow part of the Canal de Montech. Other paths lead you to the heart of the forest or along the Canal lateral to the Garonne. You will see charming locks there, notably the Lavache lock. To please the children, remember to book a ride at the Montech pony-club, on the outskirts of the forest.
An unusual site is in the town of Montech: The water slope. This is a set of locks. Its operation is astonishing and particularly interesting.
