Useful information

Location : In the countryside

Province : Tarn - Les montagnes de granite

  • English
    • Nestled between the Black Mountain and the Lacaune Mountains, the Anglès Plateau is criss-crossed by two rivers, the Arn and the Agout, and numerous streams. The Raviège lake is an artificial reservoir on the Agout. It is a large lake 12 km long, which is mainly in the Hérault, but there are some accesses in the Tarn.

The lake benefits from an environment of mountains and very preserved forests. Indeed, the Agout Valley is classified as “Natura 2000” . It offers you a calm and very pleasant setting for all kinds of nature activities. You can practice hiking on the surrounding forest trails: more than 120 km of marked trails are at your disposal. You will find beautiful views of the mountains. On the other hand, it is not possible to go around the lake. Access to the lake is highly regulated. It is advisable to go through the campsite, the snack bar or the two beaches.

During the summer, two leisure centers are set up there. The Bouldouïres leisure center is a developed part of the lake, with a large fine sandy beach overlooking a supervised bathing area, play areas for children, a tree climbing park, sports fields, inflatable water games, catering outlets… It's a family place and it can get very crowded in summer. Dogs are prohibited on the beach.

The Gua leisure center decorates a small pebble beach, in a very natural setting. Many water activities are available there, as well as a large paddling pool and a supervised swimming area. You will be able to rent pedal boats, paddles... and discover the wildest corners of the lake. A water ski school also allows you to learn about this sport.

The Mountain Festival of the Elements takes place there at least in June. Nearly 60 artists parade on 3 stages, for 4 days of very lively and free parties!
