    • The Honey Museum

A major tourist attraction in Midi-Pyrénées , the Honey Museum is located in Gramont, in the heart of the Lomagne region, a small region that is part of Gascony. It is a veritable conservatory of techniques and traditions related to honey, hive products , beekeeping and bees. Traditions from French regions , but also from different cultures and practices around the world.

It will take you at least an hour to explore the 700 square meters of exhibitions. Since opening to the public in 1994, the collections of the Honey Museum have continued to grow, making it today one of the most comprehensive museums in the world on the theme of beekeeping: it is a true conservatory of traditions and know-how.

All the antique and traditional hives from the regions of France are represented here, as well as accessories relating to beekeeping or honey production (you will find the inventory of the museum's collections here) . Glass hives allow you to see the bees working live and, during the summer season, you may be lucky enough to observe the queen laying eggs.

You will take a tour of the world of bees in the large room where the international exhibition of beehives is presented, accompanied by photographic commentaries and objects brought back by Chantal and Emile Molès during their many beekeeping trips.

You will also discover an exhibition on wax and its various uses: candles, embossed wax, encaustic, etc. The techniques of beekeeping and the manufacturing of honey-based products will no longer hold any secrets for you after the 20-minute film and the explanations from the guide.
