    • Ambialet is a place of beauty with an exceptional historical richness. Nestled on a peninsula formed by a meander of the Tarn, this town offers a breathtaking natural setting and a remarkable architectural heritage. Prepare your shoes and let's go on an adventure together!

      A bit of history

The history of Ambialet is rather eventful. Occupied since the Gallic era, the site then experienced intense Roman activity linked to the exploitation of iron. In the Middle Ages, Ambialet was an important stronghold. Today, one can still discover traces of this tumultuous past by visiting the village and its surroundings.

      A unique natural site

Ambialet is unique in Europe. The peninsula offers spectacular landscapes. The steep cliffs, the river and the lush vegetation form an incredible postcard. Many activities are possible on site: hiking, boat trips, fishing...

      A remarkable heritage

      • Ambialet is dominated by the Notre-Dame de l'Oder priory, a former Benedictine monastery with panoramic views over the valley.
      • The medieval bridge, which spans the Tarn, is another striking element of the landscape.
      • The cobbled streets , stone houses and Romanesque churches show the constant presence of a thousand-year-old history.
