Beaucaire Island faces the charming town of Moissac, on the south bank of the Tarn. It is located upstream of the confluence between the Tarn and the Garonne and it is an extraordinary landscape that awaits you. On a small arm of the Tarn, an island of greenery has formed, with a very rich biodiversity. Indeed, the island is a wetland, with very calm waters. Duckweed develops there and numerous insects proliferate there. Birds come to eat there and it is a nesting area. It is therefore classified as a “Sensitive Natural Area”.
A path allows you to go around the island. It is accessible from the Moulin du Bidounet campsite. As an extension of the island of Beaucaire, the island of Bidounet is reserved for camping. It allows you to enjoy this very bucolic and particularly serene natural environment, on the banks of the Tarn.
