Discover a magnificent 19th-century edifice built by the architect Rivet de Toulouse, who sought to reproduce the Madeleine of Paris in Albi. Located on rue de la Madeleine, opposite the Pont Vieux, the interior of the church was completely white until 1860, when embellishment work began. Today, it boasts polychrome and gilded wooden statues of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, wall paintings, the fresco in the apse, a large organ and numerous restored stained-glass windows.
