La gamasse* : une forêt aux champs.
Cet îlot boisé est sûrement le maigre, ayant échappé au défrichement, d’un couvert forestier autrefois continu.
Avant 1789 cette forêt était une propriété de l’Abbaye de Bonnecombe. Les habitants du bourg étaient autorisés à y récolter le bois pour le chauffage du four banal.
