You're on vacation, great! Are you in Albi with your family and are you planning to have fun? Kids need adventures, activities that keep them busy and satisfy their curiosity. The Tarn Aveyron Guide offers you a fun tour of Albi!

A little culture

Albi is a beautiful episcopal city teeming with wonderful things to discover: impressive buildings and fun museums. Let's take the children's perspective. Let's rise to the level of their expectations to offer them an attractive and fun cultural journey.

A great idea: a guided tour with the Little Tourist Train of Albi. During a 40-minute loop, children and parents alike can discover the history, secrets and important tourist sites of the red city of the Tarn: Albi. A special children's audio guide is even available to help the little ones understand the explanations and experience an exciting cultural experience.

After a chocolate croissant breakfast on the Place Nationale, suggest they take a tour of the historic center to admire some emblematic buildings, to understand why the city is called "Albi the red", with its characteristic stone. The episcopal city can be visited easily on foot, even with short legs.

Go through the Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, take a look at its impressive structure! The Palais de la Berbie right next door is also impressive. This is an opportunity to take a break to visit the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum. He is an attractive painter for children, with his portraits, posters, representations of animals... And at the end of the visit, hop, a tour in the Palace Gardens to have a snack in front of the magnificent view of the river below. Do you see the Old Bridge below ? It dates from the medieval period and at that time, to cross it you had to pay, like tolls on the highway.

Continue your walk in Old Alby, showing the children the beautiful half-timbered and corbelled houses. The stalls, boutiques, mansions... The Tourist Office will offer you a map with several discovery circuits and a booklet specially designed for children, with information for them!

Don't miss the Lapérouse Museum, an 18th century explorer who is sure to inspire kids. He sailed the seas aboard legendary ships like the Astrolabe.

We're having fun!

It's hot , so why not take shelter under a tree for a picnic ? Head to Rochegude Park, a haven of peace and quiet in the heart of the red city. A green oasis!

At the end of the day, to cool off and have fun, go and eat an ice cream near the Place du Vigan (be careful of the proximity of cars), there are beneficial water jets in the heart of the heatwave! There is also a carousel of wooden horses (the Carrousel du Vigan), not far away, to take turns to the sound of pretty music.

What if we took a reading break in a beautiful store? At L a Librairie des Enfants, Les Petits Vagabonds, we will always find reading advice, books, French-speaking novels, comics and events around children's literature. The hardest part will be not to overload the backpack with too much work, to continue the visit ;)

Next to the covered market, there's another nice shop where you'll find board games : Chats Pitres. There you'll find advice on choosing a game to try for a family evening, to spice up your evenings in Albi.

Are you feeling a bit tired ? Why not continue your visit on the little tourist train ? Choo-choo! It's fun, economical, and without a doubt, the fastest and most fun way for kids to see the city. You get some fresh air, you learn... Departure from Place Sainte-Cécile, among other places.

It's the end of the day, need a moment of calm ? In Albi there is a beautiful complex in the Cordeliers cultural district which offers cinemas and shows regularly. Check out the program on the Scène Nationale d'Albi website. There is also the Municipal Theater, Le Grand Théâtre des Cordeliers in its modern building.

And tomorrow? We'll be in great shape, so we'll go jump, run and scream with joy at the Zig et Compagnie playground. An indoor park perfect for rainy or hot days, with everything you need to entertain the children (and even a little disco for Kids!)

And for a walk outside, we will discover another green space: the Pratgraussals Leisure Center. Tennis, children's play area, picnic table, fishing area, lake

In the summer, you'll be happy to sail on the Tarn in a canoe. In general, these boats are allowed for accompanied children, from 5 years old (sometimes 3 years old, depending on the rental company). With sunscreen, a cap and sunglasses, it's the best for a great day out on the water ! You can also go on a small boat, a mini cruise on the Tarn!

And if you prefer slides, all year round indoors and outdoors in the summer, head to the Atlantis Aquatic Center, a beautiful place to have fun all day long, sliding, swimming, playing beach volleyball and sunbathing.
